WELCOME to the virtual course of Ebusiness! (PSS4PO0041-3)

The aim of this course is for you to understand and analyze the possibilities of ebusiness and its position in overall business strategy. Upon completion of this course you should have a good knowledge of the basic functions, dimensions and forms of ebusiness. You will familiarize yourself with different online business models and marketing concepts as well as online security, ethical issues and payment options. You will also learn about the laws and rules that regulate ebusiness and different measurements used in evaluating online performance.

PART 1 (6 cr). For the first part of the course, a research report is produced. This should be done by your own research and experiences. Information sources include written and electronic sources. Current material from journals, library databases and the internet should be utilized. The research report should include assignments 1-6.

PART 2 (optional, 3 cr). The second part of the course discusses the technology behind ecommerce infrastructure and building a site for online commercial purposes as well as supply chain management. Should you choose this additional part of the course, you will continue with your research report according to guidelines mentioned above. The research report should include assignments 7-9, along with assignments 1-6 from previous work.

Wishing you many inspiring and interesting moments in the wide world of ebusiness!
